What is a Period?

Periods are the shedding of women’s uterine lining. Each month, a lining is developed inside the uterus to prepare for a pregnancy and then shed throughout 3 - 6 days.

It starts between age 9 - 16 (all girls are different!), comes every month (mostly), and only stops [permanently] at menopause at age 45 - 60.
That’s between 300 - 500 periods in their lifetime
(for most modern women with generally fewer pregnancies).

Each period is usually about 1-4 tablespoons...

But it always seems like so much more...

It also comes with many side effects and is different for all women. They include, but are not limited to, varying levels of cramping, pain, cravings, bloating, nausea, tender breasts, which may all lead to short-temperness and reduced bullshit-taking.
